CGPA — FAQs
How to convert CGPA to percentage? +
CBSE formula: Percentage = CGPA × 9.5. So a CGPA of 9.0 = 85.5%. Many universities use × 10 instead. Enter your CGPA in the quick converter above to see both formulas instantly.
What is a good CGPA? +
In most Indian universities using a 10-point scale: Above 9.0 = Outstanding (O), 8.0–9.0 = Excellent (A+), 7.0–8.0 = Very Good (A), 6.0–7.0 = Good (B+). Most engineering placements require a minimum of 7.0–7.5 CGPA.
What is a credit-weighted CGPA? +
CGPA = Σ(Credits × Grade Points) ÷ Total Credits. Subjects with higher credits (like 4-credit lab subjects) contribute more to your CGPA than 2-credit subjects. This calculator weights each subject correctly by its credit hours.
